Creative Healing Massage Training
Creative healing is so named by its originator, Joseph Stephenson who came to the United States at age 36 from England to practice his method and later in life to teach his method. At the age of 82 he died in Long Beach in 1956. This method of massage has nearly been forgotten.
In 1992 Shawn took up an interest in learning this massage method from an older couple that lived in a near by town in Idaho. This method has helped many people with their difficulties, and restored them back to their normal state of well being.
As with every method of healing, Creative Healing aims to restore the body to normal functioning. In order to achieve this aim, the operator, following the Stephenson method, works with his hands by gentle pressure on certain nerve and circulation centers of the patient, guided by the four following principles on which Stephenson’s work is based:
1) To break up congestion.
2) To create a vacuum.
3) To realign substance.
4) To restore the body to normal temperature.
1) Creates a deep penetrating action, though gentle, the effects may reach to the bone.
2) Stimulates the flow of blood and other body fluids or mucus and other wastes when they are stagnant.
3) To realign substance along the spine, the substance may be cartilage, nerve, ligament, muscle, tendon, or even an organ of the body.
4) To add or take heat out of an organ by using the palm with light strokes to withdraw and firmer stokes to add heat.
